ABOUT THE JOB:

The Kingdom barista is dedicated to curating an excellent service experience for the customer. We are currently on the search for an enthusiastic and talented person to implement food, beverage, and customer service to the high standard we have come to be known for. While we aim to provide a consistent schedule, this position will inevitably require somewhat open availability and flexibility in the case needs dictate change.

 

YOU WILL:

  • Be the face of Kingdom Coffee, representing the values and ideals of the organization
  • Diligently follow the recipes and prep methods to ensure items are consistent in appearance and taste
  • Thrive in a high volume work environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Support your teammates in keeping the bar running smoothly by communicating effectively, collaborating and pitching in wherever is needed
  • Monitor inventory and communicate clearly with Cafe Managers to ensure accuracy and availability of supplies
  • Ensure your workspace and equipment are in top shape, always cleaning, organizing and doing dishes as you go
  • Carefully uphold all food safety practices to protect our guests
  • Work closely with the Kitchen staff, carrying out their vision of flavorful yet simple food items
  • Always utilize FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper storage of food products (label and dating)
  • Manage your time efficiently, balancing multiple tasks at any given time
  • Work in a close physical space with your teammates
  • Arrive on time, ready mentally and physically for your shift

 

YOU ARE:

  • Enthusiastic about people and creating a warm and welcoming environment
  • Open to giving and receiving constructive criticism with the intent of building one another up
  • Willing to ask for help
  • Detail oriented and excel at following directions in order to maintain consistency
  • Reliable and consistent; your manager and teammates can always depend on you to be punctual and to complete your given tasks
  • Enjoyable to work alongside, with a sense of humor and an infectious ‘can-do’ attitude, you’re serious about your work but enjoy life and don’t take yourself too seriously

 

YOU HAVE:

  • An understanding of customer service and a will to work, the rest can be learned
  • A deep love for coffee, food and community
  • Basic math and writing skills

 

BONUS:

  • Experience working in specialty coffee or have a desire to learn and be a part of the coffee service industry
  • A thorough understanding of how to safely, responsibly use and clean food and beverage equipment

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This is a physical role and the physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met for a team member to be successful in the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time
  • The ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to listen and communicate
  • The ability to have close visual acuity to perform repetitive visual checking, counting, spotting small defects, determine accuracy of numbers and quality of goods
  • The ability to smell and taste

 

SPECIFICS:

  • Starting pay: $10.30 – $10.80 hourly + tips
  • 20-35 hours/week
  • 30 Day Review Period
